Winter Recess / Schools Closed

Winter Recess in NYC Schools

Winter recess is a scheduled break during the winter months when schools in New York City are closed. This period typically occurs in late December and early January, coinciding with the holiday season.

Impact on Students

• Students have time to relax and recharge before the new year.

• Opportunities for enrichment activities outside of the classroom.
