At Jean Nuzzi Intermediate School 109, Dads Take Your Child to School Day is an opportunity to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, guardians, and other father figures who support and encourage our students.

The day highlights a simple but meaningful act: showing up. Taking time to accompany a child to school creates an opportunity to talk, listen, and begin the day with encouragement. Even as middle school students grow more independent, these moments offer a valuable reminder that someone is there to support them.

The occasion also celebrates the connection between home and school. At I.S. 109, we want families to feel welcome and involved in their children’s education. Whether it means asking about a class assignment, attending a school event, or helping a student work through a challenge, there are many ways to stay connected throughout the school year.

To the dads and father figures in our school community: thank you for the guidance, patience, and encouragement you provide. Your support helps students approach new experiences with confidence and reminds them that they have someone in their corner.

As we recognize Dads Take Your Child to School Day, we encourage families to carry that spirit into everyday life. A few minutes of conversation, a shared walk, or a thoughtful question about the school day can open the door to a stronger connection.

Our time is now: We shine together!
